Stephanie & Dan - Wedding at the Apiary in Lexington

Anekdota Studio

Stephanie & Dan's wedding marked the start of my spring/summer wedding season, and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful affair to start the season off right. First, look at Stephanie's dress. It's gorgeous AND it has pockets.

Stephanie & Dan were married at St. Paul's Catholic Church in downtown Lexington. They saw each other for the first time on their wedding day at the start of their ceremony. It was a beautiful moment to capture.

Two years ago Dan proposed to Stephanie while they were walking on the beach in Puerto Rico. They love traveling together and now they'll be embarking on adventures as husband and wife.

Stephanie and Dan's reception was at the Apiary, and let me just say it is a beautiful venue. Not only do they have impeccable gardens, but their service, and food are spectacular. Photographing the Apiary is always such a pleasure.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding, is the reception. This is when the couple I work with, gets to relax and enjoy their time with friends and family. Seeing Stephanie and Dan amongst the people they chose to celebrate their wedding with, it's obvious that they are loved and supported. It's also obvious, that they're the kind of people that inspire great friendships.

Congratulations Stephanie & Dan!

Lauren & Zach - Sharon Woods Engagement Session

Anekdota Studio

I met Lauren and Zach at Sharon Woods right outside Cincinnati, OH for their engagement session. It was a beautiful day and the light was perfect. I mean seriously, look at these dreamy color tones.

Lauren and Zach dated long distance while she attended college in Pittsburgh and then lived in New York City for a bit. They were able to make it work and have so many adventure stories about their visits to see one another. When Lauren was living in NYC they made a point of sussing out the best BBQ joints. Listening to their food adventures was a lot of fun, these two would be a lot of fun to travel with.

When Zach picked up the engagement ring for Lauren, he was so excited he couldn't wait to propose. Within 20 minutes of picking it up he asked her to marry him while they were walking through their neighborhood park under some of Lauren's favorite trees.

I'm super excited to photograph their wedding at Canyon Run Ranch later this year! Congrats Lauren & Zach!

Ben is 3 months!

Anekdota Studio

Ben is 3 months old in these photos! (He actually just turned 6 months in real life... I'm just finally catching up on my blog posts.) One of the most exciting things about this session, was getting to see some more of his personality. He's such a happy kid!

I first became friends with Ben's mom when we started working together at the Public Library. Reading is clearly an important to this little family. One of Allie's favorite books growing up was the Lorax and hopefully Ben will like it to.

Ben's parents clearly love him so much. Spending time photographing their family has been such a pleasure. Keep an eye out for the 6 month session soon!

Ginna & Andrew - Lexington Engagement Session

Anekdota Studio

I met with Ginna & Andrew at the UK Arboretum for the start of their engagement session and we finished it at Keeneland, truly two of my favorite spots in Lexington. We couldn't have asked for better weather or light.

While Ginna was studying abroad in Europe, she learned about a German engagement tradition, in which the men carve scenes in a maypole representing their relationship with the woman they are asking to marry. This tradition really struck home for her, and she told Andrew about it. She didn't think he would actually go ahead and carve her a maypole, but he did, presenting it to her along with a ring. Of course, she said yes.

Ginna & Andrew were so much fun to photograph. It's clear that they truly love and care for each other. Congrats, Ginna & Andrew!

Amanda & Johnathan - Lexington Signature Club Wedding

Anekdota Studio

Amanda & Johnathan's wedding at The Signature Club was beautiful—an intimate family only ceremony followed by fantastic reception. Not only was the weather perfect, but the company was exceptional.

It's always fun to photograph weddings for other event professionals. Amanda and Johnathan both spend their days working on other people's events. It was my pleasure to photograph the memories of those who help make memories for others.

Congratulations Amanda & Johnathan!  Thanks for including me in your special day!

A special thanks to all the vendors that made this wedding possible:
