Nicole & John - A Bluegrass Farm Wedding

Anekdota Studio

Nicole & John's wedding at Mt. Brilliant Farm was so beautiful. There were so many unique details! I particularly loved the colors of this wedding: coral, mint green, and cream.

One of my favorite things about working with Nicole & John is how real they are. These two are both kind, caring, and down-to-earth. They put their energy into making those around them comfortable and happy and didn't spend time sweating the small things. It made working with them not just easy but a serious pleasure.

Nicole and John started dating after she moved back to Kentucky from New York. John had his grandmother's ring reset for Nicole and had originally thought of planning a grand engagement moment. But, after he picked up the ring, he couldn't resist asking her right away. That night, while they were walking their dog, Nina, at the Henry Clay Estate, he proposed and of course she said yes.

We were able to steal a few minutes away right before sunset to take pictures in the gardens at Mt. Brilliant. After the hustle of the wedding day it was nice to get a few moments in such a gorgeous setting. Congrats Nicole & John! You are both amazing and I am so excited for you.

Ashley & Andre - Wedding at Noah's in Louisville

Anekdota Studio

Ashley & Andre's wedding at Noah's Event Venue in Louisville, KY was gorgeous. Ashley loves fresh herbs, so she incorporated as many sprigs of rosemary, sage, thyme, etc into the decor as possible. Not only were the textures unique but the aroma was incredible!

Ashley & Andre met at a party, she was in high school and he had just started college. The first thing Andre noticed was Ashley's sassy attitude. While I was photographing them I noticed how silly they are with each other. I think it takes real confidence in a relationship to goof off together.

Andre proposed to Ashley during Christmas. She had been asking for a new set of skis so when ski shaped presents were put out under the tree, she figured that's what was in store. Andre, in true sneaky fashion, had wrapped up her old set and in the box of boots, hidden a ring among a bed of roses. Ashley was surprised and more than happy to receive the ring instead of new skis.

It was so much fun to photograph this wedding. There attention to detail was spectacular. But even more incredible, was the love Ashley and Andre clearly have for each other!

Callie & Dustin's Wedding at Elk Creek Vineyards

Anekdota Studio

Callie & Dustin's wedding at Elk Creek Vineyard was beautiful. It was a gorgeous setting for this incredible couple's nuptials.

Callie & Dustin met in college. They quickly became good friends and would seek each other out for advice. It took a few years, and a few bouts of dating the wrong people, before they finally realized that perhaps the person they sought for comfort and console, was the person for them. After many nights of talking on the roof of Dustin's frat house, they finally ended up together.

Dustin proposed to Callie last New Year's eve. It was cold, they got kicked out of the first bar, and no one in their group seemed to be having much fun. But all the flaws with the night were balanced out when Dustin proposed and Callie said yes.

Congrats to the newly weds! Thanks for including me in your wedding day.

Stephanie & Dan - Wedding at the Apiary in Lexington

Anekdota Studio

Stephanie & Dan's wedding marked the start of my spring/summer wedding season, and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful affair to start the season off right. First, look at Stephanie's dress. It's gorgeous AND it has pockets.

Stephanie & Dan were married at St. Paul's Catholic Church in downtown Lexington. They saw each other for the first time on their wedding day at the start of their ceremony. It was a beautiful moment to capture.

Two years ago Dan proposed to Stephanie while they were walking on the beach in Puerto Rico. They love traveling together and now they'll be embarking on adventures as husband and wife.

Stephanie and Dan's reception was at the Apiary, and let me just say it is a beautiful venue. Not only do they have impeccable gardens, but their service, and food are spectacular. Photographing the Apiary is always such a pleasure.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding, is the reception. This is when the couple I work with, gets to relax and enjoy their time with friends and family. Seeing Stephanie and Dan amongst the people they chose to celebrate their wedding with, it's obvious that they are loved and supported. It's also obvious, that they're the kind of people that inspire great friendships.

Congratulations Stephanie & Dan!
