This was a very exciting engagement session. We were allowed to photograph at the Old Taylor Distillery, now known as the Castle & Key Distillery. Currently, they don't allow photography sessions since they're rushing to meet a tight deadline to open next Spring. However, the place is a beautiful location for a photo shoot and so I want to thank the Castle & Key Distillery for making an exception on our behest.
Katie & Clay actually went to high school together but didn't meet until college. For a few years they would hear about each other from mutual friends but were never in the right place at the right time to meet. It's serendipitous how the universe kept them from each other until just the right moment.
Clay proposed to Katie on a trip to New York City. At the same time, Katie was planning a surprise for Clay and was so focused on her own plans for Clay that she didn't pick up on all the signs. What makes this story so special is how they were each thinking of the other person above and beyond themselves, a level of commitment to each other that really shone through their photographs.
After the Old Taylor Distillery we managed to sneak in a few farm photos right as the sun was setting. I am looking forward to photographing their wedding in 2016. Congratulations Katie & Clay!
