I love the holidays. From Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Years, It's a good time to reflect, take inventory, and count the blessings of the year past while making plans for the year to come.
I always like to take time at Thanksgiving to do just what the name says—give thanks. Despite what challenges the year has brought, and this year seems to have had more than most, there are many blessings and opportunities that deserve to be acknowledged.
So for 2016, here are the things I'm thankful for:
My family: Even though I live in Kentucky, the rest of my family is split between coasts. Despite the distance, we are all very close and they are one of the major grounding forces in my life. I love and am thankful for all of the incredible people I get to claim kinship with.
My clients: It still amazes me how many people include me in their wedding day, not just trusting me to take their photos, but welcoming me into one of the most intimate days of their lives. For all of my clients—past, present, and future—thank you. You are why this business of mine continues to grow.
My dog (aka Cammie the Adventure Dog): This one goes without saying, you may have seen photos of my little adventure dog on my social media or elsewhere on this blog. She's my constant companion, travel buddy, the world's best cuddler, and loyal to a fault. I would't have it any other way.
New Equipment & the Opportunities to Grow: Every year my photography improves, and this year feels like it's done so in leaps and bounds. I've added some new tools to my camera bag—most notably off camera flash—and with these tools I have new challenges to tackle. It's an exciting time to be a photographer, with new technology being released every day, and I am thankful for all the new challenges that keep me on my toes.
There are many other things I'm thankful for, but this list covers the big ones. What are some of the things that you are thankful for this year?
