Nicole & John braved 12 degree weather for this engagement session! They were total troopers despite the bitter cold and in the end I think it was worth it. I particularly loved all the silly photos we got with their dog Nina.
Nicole and John started dating about two and half years ago, after she moved back to Kentucky from New York. John had his grandmother's ring reset for Nicole and had originally thought of planning a grand engagement moment. But, after he picked up the ring, he couldn't resist asking her right away. So that day, after work, he convinced her to walk their dog through the Ashland Henry Clay Estate, which is where he asked her to marry him.
I really enjoyed spending time with Nicole and John during this session. They were warm, friendly, and clearly compliment each other well. We ended the session at their house which is always a nice touch. Their home is lovely, not just because it's impeccably decorated, but because they make the place welcome with their warmth.
Congratulations Nicole & John! I can't wait to photograph your wedding later this year.
