Lauren & Zack - Fall Wedding at Canyon Run Ranch

Anekdota Studio

Lauren and Zack's wedding day was one of the coldest I've ever photographed, but looking at the two of them together and you'd never it no it. Their happiness exudes warmth.

One of my favorite things about their wedding was the venue itself, Canyon Run Ranch is such a gorgeous place and was made even more beautiful with the work of Samantha from Samantha Joy Events.

When Zach picked up the engagement ring for Lauren, he was so excited he couldn't wait to propose. Within 20 minutes of picking it up he asked her to marry him while they were walking through their neighborhood park under some of Lauren's favorite trees.

Jordan & Zach - Fall Wedding at the Hockensmith Barn in Louisville

Anekdota Studio

Jordan and Zach's wedding was beautiful. They held it at the Hockensmith Barn in Louisville at the Parklands of Floyds Fork. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. And, the light was incredible.

Jordan and Zach met at a Valentine's day dance in college. After dancing the night away they became friends and remained just friends for a couple of years. While Jordan was traveling in London, Zach let her know he was interested in more than just a friendship with her. By the end of the summer they were officially a couple.

Last year on a trip to Arizona to visit friends, Zach proposed to Jordan on top of Devils Bridge in Sedona. Of course, she said yes.

I really loved all the attention to detail Jordan and Zach put into this wedding. The rich tones of the color palette were the perfect complement to fall.

A special thanks to all the vendors that made this day possible.

Carli & Alex - Wedding at Canyon Run Ranch in Ohio

Anekdota Studio

As a Kentucky girl, I tend to be a bit biased about our rolling landscape, believing that there are few places that can match the natural beauty of a Kentucky landscape. So when Carli first asked me to photograph her wedding at a ranch in Ohio, I envisioned flat country. This was so far from the woodland whimsy that is everywhere at Canyon Run Ranch

When we first arrived I was amazed at how beautiful everything was, not just the landscape, but the interior design and layout, everything. There were so many nooks and crannies to set up details shots, it was a bit overwhelming.

Carli & Alex have been dating long distance almost since their relationship started. Throughout the wedding planning process, I was so impressed with how they were able to organize everything even though they live on opposite sides of the country. It makes their story even more impressive.

Carli and Alex met through Tinder. Yes, you read that right. When Carli first moved to Columbus, she was looking to meet new people and signed up for Tinder. Alex, was getting ready to leave Columbus for flight training, but still happened to have the Tinder app. One of the things that really drew them together was their faith. Once they connected, they couldn't stop emailing and messaging one another, but it would be 3 months before they actually met in person.

On their first date, they went to a Japanese restaurant. They were enjoying each others company so much that they lost track of time, and had to be asked to leave since the restaurant was closing.

Alex knew that Carli was the woman he wanted to spend his life with. One weekend he flew back to Columbus without letting Carli know he was coming. From her front porch he facetimed her while asking her to come to the door. Carli was so surprised and excited that she ran out of the apartment, accidentally locking herself out. Alex was down on one knee and of course, she said yes.

Their wedding was really beautiful, from a ceremony in the woods, to running through a shower of petals, to a reception in a beautiful barn. The whole day was filled with love, laughter, and tears of joy.

Carli did most of the design and decor herself, and it was impeccable. It's not surprising that she has made a career of design. I particularly loved how the wedding colors grey and coral stood out against all the lush greenery at the ranch.

One of my favorite parts of the evening, was when we snuck out after sunset to take a few more couple portraits. The twilight, combined with the purple flowers just made for some of the most magical photos I've taken.

Congratulations Carli & Alex! Thanks so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding.

Erin & Nathan - Wedding at the Josephina in Dry Ridge

Anekdota Studio

Erin & Nathan's April 15th wedding at the Josephina in Dry Ridge was my first wedding of the year. I can hardly believe the 2016 wedding season is already underway! I couldn't have asked for a better couple to jump start the year.

Erin met Nathan through one of her cousins.  It's hard to imagine that cousin could have guessed they'd be walking down the aisle five year's later. When I met with Erin & Nathan to discuss their wedding plans, I immediately noticed that Erin had two engagement rings. Of course, I had to ask. After Nathan proposed using a ring he had picked out, his mother gave him one of the family heirloom rings that had been passed down from generation to generation. This way Erin gets both a new ring and one with family meaning.

This was my first time photographing at the Jospehina in Dry Ridge, KY. The white barn coupled with white lights and chandeliers, truly captured the rustic elegance look Erin & Nathan wanted. Congratulations to the newly weds! Your wedding was as beautiful as the two of you together.
